Hi, I thought I would take the time to give you some feedback on your course, staff, members and club on the whole. I booked a 3 ball for the 24th Nov at 11am taking advantage of your ham, egg and chips deal. Shortly after booking we realised we would probably like to eat before teeing off. I called NDGC back and spoke to a lady who kindly agreed to ask the kitchen to open early to accomodate us at around 1030 for our brunch despite your kitchen not opening until 11am. On arrival I turned up early to have a putt and swing in the nets where the lad in the pro-shop kindly talked us through the first few holes along with some of the local etiquettes. We then headed to the bar area where a patient chef sat by the serving hatch and with barely an introduction asked when we would like to eat. The food was then prepared and whilst we waited she brought us in some teas and coffees as she said the bar wasn't able to yet due to it still being closed. As we sat talking every single person who entered the room not only said hello but stopped for a chat. This continued throughout the afternoon, whether we were waiting at a tee or letting someone through in front of us. The food was lovely, the coffee strong, the staff genuine, helpful and polite. The course was well kept, challenging, well marked, fair rough and amazing views. Your members were friendly and talkative. We have played most courses in the East of Surrey and many around the country with most being rather pretentious, negative towards non-members and not particuarly accomodating. North Downs Golf Club, despite its location within one of the most affluent villages in Surrey is none of those things. I cannot sing high enough praise to all at NDGC, staff and members alike. It is far too easy to complain these days where positive comments go unspoken. We look forward to visiting you again soon.

What an absolute corker of a golf course, not long but none the less tricky, a course for the thinker and plotter rather than for the basher and slugger. We found the course in relatively good condition for March with good greens which will be even harder to read and putt on come the summer months. A great day was had by everyone with a warm welcome given to us by all the staff we met, the only downer was the early morning fog which made things difficult for a few holes, but hey we were looking for a new course to replace one of our old venues and we've found it. North Downs will now remain on our fixture list. Nuff said!

I played here yesterday in a Society. The course is not that long 5538yrds, but it is only a par 69, which does make it even. The first hole is a nice gentle opener (248yrds) if you choose to use it as that, or it is a chance to get your round off to a flying start. Having not played the course before, I would have struggled with a few of the holes as they have a couple of blind tee off's. But luckily we had someone in our group that had played before.
As the sun was coming down, as it has for a long time this summer the ball just ran and ran. This was a help on a couple holes but not on others, as I run into the trees on several holes due to the sloping fairways. All the fairways are tree lined and if you are going to miss the fairways then I suggest you miss them big and end up on the next fairway, as when you are in the trees your only option is to chip out sideways.
Quite a lot of short risk and reward holes with most of the greens on the course being thin and long, which means yon have to be straight when approaching the greens.
For me the best part of the course were the greens. They were receptive to an approach shot so you could attack the pins, but they were also fairly quick when putting. The role was true with no bumps and bobbles. You were certainly rewarded for good putting as our group were rolling putts in from everywhere.
I have played a lot of courses in the Kent/Surrey area and will defiantly be going back to this little gem.

Fabulous little course. Relatively short but certainly challenging enough. The tenth is a real test of golf and stamina.
The small greens were in very good condition, fast, true but very difficult to read.
Warm welcome from the members and staff, very pleasant atmosphere. I'll certainly be back.
